Welcome to Smile First Pediatric Dentistry

Our mission is to develop a future generation who are inspired to take pride in their oral health. We want your child to feel confident in managing their smile. We aim to eliminate anxiety by establishing a welcoming dental home at an early age.

By creating a positive experience catered to your exact needs, we build a dynamic bond between our providers and our patients. We recognize the uniqueness of each child. We treat all children from infancy to adulthood as if they are our own. If you need a compassionate pediatric dentist, Long Island families are always welcome here.

A Welcoming and Comfortable Environment

The Importance Of Pediatric Dentistry

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children begin their dental care early. Every child should visit a kids dentist around age one. These early visits are usually very brief. They help your child get comfortable in a dental setting. They also allow us to observe dental changes from an early age. As your dedicated pediatric dentist, Oakdale NY families can rely on our gentle approach. We also proudly serve all surrounding communities.

What To Expect

We want to make the process easy for you. At the initial visit, we will perform a gentle oral examination. We will also review infant oral hygiene with you. It is important to find a caring dentist for toddlers to help build healthy habits. The extent of the exam will depend entirely on your comfort level. In some cases, we will gently clean the teeth and apply a topical fluoride. Preparing your child is easy when you reinforce that the office is a fun place. Finding a great dentist for infants ensures a wonderful start to lifelong oral health. We make booking simple for everyone.

Preventative Dentistry for Kids

Our practice emphasizes creating a comfortable and positive experience for children, with a focus on preventative care to maintain healthy teeth and gums.

Routine Dental Cleanings

Regular dental cleanings are vital to prevent plaque buildup and oral diseases. Children are at a higher risk for developing tooth decay. During a routine exam, we check the health of your child's mouth. We gently clean the teeth and may take digital x-rays if needed. We also use a safe fluoride varnish to help strengthen young teeth.

Dental Sealants and Fillings

Sealants are a simple coating that protects teeth from decay. We often see cavities starting in the molars where bumps and grooves easily trap food and bacteria. Sealants are especially important for little ones who have a hard time managing a toothbrush. If your child does need a cavity treated, we offer tooth colored fillings. These blend seamlessly with their natural smile.

Sedation Options for Children

We understand that some children get nervous when visiting the office. We provide safe and effective sedation options to help your child completely relax. Nitrous oxide is a very safe gas made by mixing oxygen with nitrogen. It does not cause allergies and helps melt away stress. Our team is highly trained in gentle sedation options to help your child's visit go as smoothly and comfortably as possible.
